How to Plan a Romantic Journey

It isn’t easy to make a travel plan for a trip with your loved one, even if you are a long-married couple. You must consider different interests and wishes, not get mad at each other, and arrange a perfect vacation. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion to spend some time away with someone you love – there is nothing better than just planning a perfect romantic vacation anytime you feel like it. It can be something simple, like a road trip to national parks, nature reserves, or the mountains, or something more exotic like a flight to a different continent for a safari. Here, let’s talk about all the possible places you can go with your couple and the steps to take to prepare for it.

Where to Go

Bali, Indonesia

Bali, also known as the Island of the Gods, is a universal place for any type of vacation. Although on a picturesque island in Indonesia you will be perfectly comfortable alone, when you travel there with your beloved one, the journey turns out to be even more magical. Some parts of Bali have retained a modern look, but the island is well adapted for a vast number of travelers. Surfing, modern hotels, excursions, diving – this is just a small list of what you can do in Bali.

Santorini, Greece

Romantic and picturesque photos on Instagram against the backdrop of rocks and mountain houses are increasingly suggestive that you should visit Santorini. The romance of the island is felt in everything:

  • Bright sunsets;
  • Delicious food against the backdrop of the Aegean Sea;
  • Perfect white houses;
  • Blue domes of temples, etc.

The hilly landscape formed after the volcano eruption is suitable for a leisurely holiday and can be an ideal place for a wedding.

Safari in Tanzania

Not everyone prefers spending their romantic holiday on a beach; some prefer extreme and fresh sensations. Adventure seekers will enjoy a trip to Tanzania for the opportunity to see Kilimanjaro, visit national parks and nature reserves, and go on safari. For the latter, Ngorongoro Crater or the Serengeti National Park is ideal. There you can see the “big five” – lion, cheetah, rhino, elephant, and buffalo.

Cappadocia, Turkey

There is no more ideal place for a romantic vacation than Cappadocia. The desert region with “chimneys” formed in the rocks transfers teleports you to another dimension or makes you the hero of an adventure book. A balloon flight will be an excellent gift for your second half. They will appreciate it even if they dislike broad gestures and romantic actions.

Moluccas, Indonesia

The group of Indonesian islands boasts volcanoes and pristine beaches. The name translates as “islands of spices” because the islands of the Banda archipelago grow nutmeg. Explore this place if you quickly get bored in Bali and want a more active holiday.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Rome and Milan are not the only places to enjoy in Italy; try and discover the Amalfi Coast. It is known for its nature and architecture and will be an ideal choice for a Mediterranean holiday. Travelers can enjoy small villages with sea views and visit famous places, such as the Emerald Grotto (Grotto dello Smeraldo), museums, and medieval temples.

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

You won’t find predators in the Galapagos Islands, but you can watch fur seals or giant turtles from afar. In addition to activities for nature lovers, you can visit the volcano Alcedo or the black sandy beach of Puerto Egas. Observing the islands in 1835 inspired Charles Darwin to create a theory of evolution. For you, it may be the site to reboot or get closer to another crucial scientific discovery.

Tulum, Mexico

If an isolated setting is essential for you when traveling, and your partner cares more about exotics and new experiences, then choose Mexico. You will easily find a balance between a lazy beach holiday, diving, and exploring the Mayan settlements, which are well preserved to this day.

Time to Plan

Here are a few simple tips on where to start your planning and what you should consider.

Interactive Map or Paper Map

Both ways are something to make your trip more atmospheric. If you choose to use an interactive map, you can make a travel itinerary and interact online. Planning the route and events by day will take into account all the details of the trip. And if you try following the paper map, it will add nostalgia and romance to your journey, marking all the places you want to visit and drawing the road right on the map. But to make it more practical – use both!

Destinations

Think about the places you want to go in advance, and plan the road to waste minimum time on getting to the destination and maximum time on enjoying it. Use special mobile apps to help – there are plenty of them – add each destination to your itinerary (countries, cities, and even sights), and add your own special places.

Travel Photo Notes

It is impossible to build a travel route without notes. You can write notes on each item with photos and comments. Reminders about events, flight times, and messages on excursions.

Travel Budget

The calculation of the cost of travel is necessary for planning budget trips. It helps you not to waste your money!
